Common therapy approaches we use
At Collaborative Insight, we offer outpatient services to individuals (children, adolescents, and adults) and couples. Our experienced clinicians offer an eclectic, collaborative approach utilizing a variety of evidence based approaches, including but not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Trauma-Informed Modalities including EMDR, Insight Oriented Psychotherapy, and the Gottman Method for working with couples.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
A form of talk therapy in which you challenge beliefs, assumptions and thought patterns, ultimately building new ways of thinking. With CBT, it is often found that changing the way we think leads to changing the way we feel.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
A short-term, goal-focused therapeutic approach that allows you to create a meaningful vision for change. SFBT provides solutions for present and future circumstances and goals, rather than focusing on problems.
Trauma-Informed Therapy
A therapy approach that brings awareness to the impact of trauma on one's lived experience. By placing an emphasis on building trust and establishing a setting of safety, understanding and confronting traumatic experiences can begin.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a research-based approach that helps people process trauma, anxiety, and painful memories. Using gentle eye movements or tapping, it allows the brain to reprocess “stuck” experiences so they feel less overwhelming. Many clients find it helps them feel calmer, lighter, and more at ease in their lives.
Insight Oriented Psychotherapy
A form of therapy that assists you in identifying and understanding how your past influences current thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Insight Oriented Psychotherapy ultimately allows you to build a deeper understanding of yourself.
The Gottman Method
The Gottman Method offers valuable tools for improving communication, fostering emotional connection, and building a deeper understanding between partners. By focusing on enhancing friendship, managing conflict constructively, and creating shared meaning, couples can develop healthier relationships and navigate challenges more effectively.
Let's Talk
The first step in therapy is talking. Let's find a time where we can talk about what's on your mind.
